Caring for a loved one that has a painful illness or is nearing the end of life is challenging. Let Providence Hospital’s Palliative Care help you through this time with its skilled, understanding medical professionals and programs.
Providence Hospital’s Palliative Care Service provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients with advanced illnesses. The goal is to enable the patient to live with quality and dignity, leaving behind family and friends who are secure in the knowledge that they did all they could to make the last days caring and comfortable for their loved one. At Providence Hospital and Carroll Manor, our mission of caring extends to every phase of life—even the last.
The Palliative Care Service team does not take over medical care from the patient’s primary physician, but rather assists them in every way possible. The team is comprised of a physician, registered nurse, social worker, pastoral care coordinator, and volunteers. Upon discharge from the hospital, they prepare the patient and family for home or hospice care. For residents staying at Carroll Manor, the team consults with the residential staff on palliative care measures and follows them on a routine basis.
