Cardinal Donald W. Wuerl Leads Celebration and Blessing of Providence Cath Lab and MRI Center
On Monday, November 4th – after months of planning and preparations, Providence Medical Staff, Administration, the Daughters of Charity and Associates celebrated the grand opening of the new Cardiac Catheterization Lab and MRI Center.
Cardinal Donald W. Wuerl, Archbishop of Washington led the proceedings which began in the Providence Chapel. Meedie Bardonville, Nurse Manager of the 6th floor, opened the ceremony with a Song of Praise, followed by a welcome and introduction from Amy Freeman.
The ceremony included readings by Sister Suzanne Baumgartner, Associate Ministry, Office of the President, Dr. Thomas Pinder, Cardiologist, and Arnold Carter, Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technician. Cardinal Wuerl then provided a blessing of the Cardiac and MRI Teams, before leading the procession to the MRI Center for a blessing of the new Center and ribbon cutting ceremony.
Cardinal Wuerl, Amy Freeman, Verna Bartholomew, Assistant Vice President, Cardiology, Radiology and Respiratory Services, Dr. Robert Hamm, Radiologist and Deiron Horton, Supervisor, MRI Center cut the ribbon, officially opening the new Providence MRI Center.
Guests then celebrated with the Cardiac and MRI teams with champagne and hors d’oeuvres.
