
The Internal Medicine Residency Program at Providence Hospital offers the trainee an alternative to traditional University based Internal Medicine
Programs by virtue of the following:
1. It provides trainees an opportunity to diagnose and treat commonly encountered medical problems of an adult, inner-city population.
2. It emphasizes ambulatory, as well as, in-patient problems, including an emphasis on Geriatrics.
3. It exposes trainees to both generalists and subspecialists who are primarily in the private practice of Medicine.
4. It emphasizes the humanistic and psychosocial aspects of acute and chronic diseases.
