Marc S. Rickford, MD - Bariatric Surgeon

Dr. Rickford is a native Washingtonian who was raised in suburban Maryland. He went to high school in the district at Gonzaga College High School. Dr. Rickford obtained his B.S. in chemistry in 1992 and medical degree in 1996 from Howard University. He completed his general surgery residency at Howard University Hospital. He also spent two years at the National Institute of Health and the National Cancer Institute as a research fellow with publication. After the completion of general surgery residency, he did an additional 18 month fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Providence Hospital.

Dr. Rickford has successfully preformed hundreds of bariatric procedures with excellent results.

Dr. Rickford is board certified in general surgery and a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity. He also serves as Chief of Clinical Services in the department of surgery at Providence Hospital.
