The Goffredi operating suite at Providence Hospital consists of eight operating rooms, one cysto room and two gastroenterology rooms that are available for elective surgery and endoscopy procedures. Patients who have outpatient surgery can be ready for discharge by 9:00 p.m. on the same day as their procedure.
Approximately 10,000 procedures are performed annually, and surgeries performed include:
- General surgery (including minimally invasive)
- Orthopedics
- Podiatry
- Neurosurgery
- Plastic surgery
- Bariatrics (obesity)
- Ear-nose-throat
- OB/GYN
- Urology
- Ophthalmology
- Cardiovascular
- Dental
- Gastroenterology
- Bronchoscopies
Pediatric surgery is limited to children weighing 50 lbs. or more, or six years of age and older.
Surgery at Providence Hospital is supported through a centralized posting area, an anesthesia pre-op screening area, a pre-op holding area and the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU.)
Cases can be scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday or from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Please call the posting and scheduling office at (202) 269-7255 for more information.
