A 29-Bed Psychiatric Unit providing comprehensive treatment for acute exacerbation of mental health disorders.
We actively develop individual treatment plans that target:- Anxiety disorders (including severe panic attacks)
- Mood disorders (major depression, bipolar illness, etc.)
- Psychotic disorders (schizophrenia, schizo-affective disorder)
- Substance abuse detox services
- Dual diagnosis (conjoint substance abuse and psychiatric illness) treatment
- Mental retardation and other developmental disabilities

Consultation Liaison Services

Our Consultation Liaison service is available 24/7 for physicians admitting their patients to Providence Hospital and Carroll Manor Nursing Home.
Examples of services available:
- Recommendation for treatment of psychiatric illness while hospitalized
- Recommendation for outpatient treatment after discharge
- Capacity determinations (e.g., decision making, living independently, refusals of treatment, etc.)
- Level of care assessments for discharge planning
- Management of agitation and delirium in medical illness
- Geriatric/Elderly Services including Carroll Manor
- Assistance with transfer to psychiatric inpatient service
