Our doors are opened all day.
We see patients from 8:30am-4:30pm Monday, Thurs, Friday (lunch 12:00-1:00) and
from 1:00pm-4:30pm on Tuesday.

Patients interested in undergoing either of our surgical procedures are encouraged to attend our monthly informational and support group meetings. They are held at Providence Hospital's Ross Auditorium on the 3 rd Thursdays of each month from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. They are also held at Holy Cross Hospital in Maryland on the 4 th Wednesday of each month from 6-8pm. For those only interested in the lap band procedure, the meetings at Holy Cross are on the 3 rd Monday of each month from 6-8pm. During this time, patients learn about the surgeries that we perform and receive information about the process of getting the surgery. They will also meet the surgeon and his support staff . Our former patients will also be available to answer questions.

Our post surgical patients meet at these times in another room to address concerns that they have. These discussions are mediated by different support physicians to include our Bariatrician, Dr. Tapscott, our Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Hall and our clinical psychologists.

For patients interested in gastric bypass surgery, patients must complete a packet of information before their initial visit. This packet is given to the patient at the monthly meetings or will be mailed out to the patients. They are also required to pay at least half of the program fee ($250), their co-pay, and must have a referral from their PCP in order to be seen by the doctor. Their next visit will be 1 month after this visit to make sure the weight loss process has begun and to make sure the pre-op process is running smoothly.

For patients interested in the adjustable gastric banding procedure, patients will meet with the surgeon first to determine if he/she is a good candidate for the procedure. They too will need to complete a packet of information before this visit. Their next visit is with Dr.Tapscott who will get the patient started on the pre-op process.

Some patients (depending on insurance) will need to start a medical weight loss program before they can proceed with the above surgeries.
