General Objective
The Internal Medicine Residency Program at Providence Hospital offers the trainee an alternative to traditional University based Internal Medicine
Programs by virtue of the following:
- It provides trainees an opportunity to diagnose and treat commonly encountered medical problems of an adult, inner-city population.
- It emphasizes ambulatory, as well as, in-patient problems, including an emphasis on Geriatrics.
- It exposes trainees to both generalists and subspecialists who are primarily in the private practice of Medicine.
- It emphasizes the humanistic and psychosocial aspects of acute and chronic diseases.
