Perry Family Health Center
The Perry Family Health Center , a Joint Commission- accredited ambulatory healthcare facility, offers a full range of quality primary care and other services for all members of your family including prenatal care, pediatrics, adolescent care, and adult care including geriatrics. Specialty services include behavioral health care for counseling and treatment, diabetic education, podiatry, and ENT (ear, nose, and throat) care. The Health Center also provides free on-site Medicaid and medication application assistance. They accept Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance plans, and a sliding fee scale.
The Health Center is located on the ground floor of the renovated, historic Perry School Community Services Center . Easy access is available by the Red Line Metro M street station, and Metro bus line #80, #P6, and #96.
The Perry School was built in 1891 as one of the first publicly funded schools for African Americans in the District of Columbia . It operated for 85 years, educating many successful professionals and major contributors to the history of the nation's capital. In 1991the Perry School was converted into the Perry School Community Service Center , a multi-agency service center, offering child development and daycare, after-school tutoring, job training and placement programs, social services, and other vital community services in addition to health care. Providence is proud to be a part of this community effort dedicated to bringing quality services to this community. The Hospital and the community extend special thanks to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the many other foundations whose confidence and financial support have helped to make the Perry Family Health Center a vital healthcare resource for the people of the District of Columbia .
