The Carroll Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center actively supports both the Family and Resident Council.
The Family and Resident Council are organized groups comprised of family members and residents.
Both Councils chooses its own topics and elects its own leadership.
The Family and Resident Council meet on a monthly basis, or as needed, on the grounds of the Carroll Manor facility.
Meeting space is provided by the facility and all family members and residents are encouraged to attend their respective meetings.
The Family Council meets on the 3rd Sunday of the month and the Resident Council meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month.
The main purpose of the Family and Resident Council is to enable family members and residents to actively participate in the decision making process that affects their life at the Carroll Manor.
Additionally, the Council provides a forum for family members and residents to:
- Voice their concerns and recognize accomplishments.
- To establish meaningful and effective lines of communication.
- Serve as a forum for education and support.
- Plan activities for special events.
- Stay abreast of and offer a collective voice regarding regulations and legislation which may impact the life of nursing home residents and their love ones.
- To bring about positive change.
- To strengthen relationships among families, residents and staff.
