The History of Carroll Manor

Carroll Manor's mission of serving the poor elderly with compassion, respect and charity is grounded in the teachings of the Catholic Church, the philosophy of Archbishop John Carroll, the first Catholic Archbishop in America, and Elizabeth Ann Seton, the first American Saint and founder of the Daughters of Charity in this country.

In April 1996, the Carroll Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center opened its doors on the grounds of Providence Hospital . This 250-bed, state-of-the-art facility offers comprehensive care. Dedicated nurses are available around the clock to provide expert intermediate, skilled, sub-acute and dementia care. Physician services are provided by the fine medical staff of Providence Hospital , which includes Board Certified geriatricians and a full range of specialties and sub-specialties.

In 2003, Carroll Manor opened 10 additional beds on the sub-acute unit, located on the 5 th floor of Providence Hospital . This unit offers large single rooms and a designated rehabilitation area for physical and occupational therapy. Speech therapy is offered in a private office space on the unit as well.

As a proud member of the Ascension Health System, we strive to bring spiritually centered, holistic care that sustains and improves the health of our communities.
